Two exciting one-day programmes await: "Make Your Agenda" workshop paired with a tour of the GEM Children’s Museum, and a hieroglyphics workshop, “Write Like an Egyptian”, combined with GEM Discovery Challenge game.
These activities provide a perfect blend of storytelling, art, and hands-on exploration, helping children unleash their creativity while connecting with the wonders of ancient Egypt during their winter break.

Make your Own Agenda Workshop & GEM Children’s Museum Tour

Participants will explore the captivating world of ancient Egyptian timekeeping and learn how the calendar shaped their civilisation. In this workshop, they will discover how the Egyptians marked the start of their year with the Nile’s flood and tracked the months using celestial stars. The experience also includes a guided tour of the GEM Children’s Museum, a space designed to spark curiosity and bring heritage to life through engaging, hands-on learning activities tailored for young minds.

  • GEM Winter Break Activities are designed for children aged 6-16 years
  • Children under 12 years must be accompanied by an older sibling (16+ years) or an adult
  • GEM Winter Break Activities will be conducted in a mix of English and Arabic languages
  • The GEM is not responsible for any loss or damage to personal belongings
  • On-site parking is available for a fee
  • With your permission, photographs and videos may be taken during the GEM Winter Break Activities for documentation and promotional purposes. A permission slip will be provided for your signature
